do you agree that true art does not push boundaries?

when i make something in art class or media class, i like to push boundaries, cause trouble
my mom freaks whenever any kind of art, be it a photo, a painting, a video, literature, is provocative in any way
i like to go bold, reflect peoples problems and predjudices and now my mom is trying to take me out of those classes to get me away from those influences because she says that isn’t art because true art isn’t like that, but her favorite literary character is hannibal lectre because he’s so provocative and brilliant
she says that films and movies aren’t art and it’s just a joke, but she says theatre and opera are true art, she says harry potter and red dragon are works of true literature, but the girl with the dragon tattoo isn’t

she loves crime dramas and fantasy stories so long as they don’t get sexual, she can’t even watch the make out scenes during a movie without holding the remote like she’s ready tp change it

wtf?
